WHY PARTICIPATE IN A RED FOX CREATIVE CHALLENGE?

Sometimes creativity and mindfulness can seem out of reach. Our expectations of ourselves stretch into the realm of perfectionism...ew! That is not fun, or mindful.  In light of that, we are starting a series of creativity and mindfulness challenges to assist our Red Fox peeps to be more mindful and creative.

HOW TO DO A RED FOX CREATIVE CHALLENGE

🧡 Read this blog post! (Success! Already! Congratulate yourself! Seriously! You have already started and it is awesome!)

🧡 You do not have to do the challenges list in the order they are written.

🧡 We include creativity challenges as well as mindful

🧡 This doesn't have to use up tons of time. 5-30 minutes...whatever time you can spare.

🧡 Some of the creativity challenges suggest mediums but use whatever you have.

WAYS TO EXPRESS YOURSELF:

  • Visual Art

  • Creative writing (journaling, post-it notes, memos on your phone, ETC)

  • Music (listening to or relating to)

  • Voice/Singing/Poetry

  • Movement

 

MEDIUMS YOU CAN USE:

  • Pencil

  • Pen

  • Crayons

  • Pencil crayons

  • Markers

  • Paint

  • Camera phone

  • Magazines and glue

 
 
 

NOVEMBER CREATIVE CHALLENGE TASKS:

  1. Capture yourself in a frazzled moment

  2. Create a drawing of your yard or local greenspace

  3. Create something with the colour you feel today

  4. Create something inspired by your to do list

  5. Sit in public with a warm beverage and people watch. No need for creation (unless you want to)

  6. Create something inspired by the last thing you bought

  7. Go to your recycle bin and create a small collage with some items from inside the bin.

  8. Draw / paint / photograph  something that represents you

  9. Hug a friend or family member for 10 seconds. Express about how this made you feel.

  10. Close your eyes. Breathe 6 square breaths. Really notice the smells around you.
    How to take square breathes: inhale for the count of four, hold for the count of four, exhale for the count of four, wait four seconds before inhaling again.
