MAKERS MONDAY: DeeZelfee Designs by Darla Noon
I’m a creator. I’m a fabric and textile artist. I have 2 small boys and an urge to make pretty things that goes largely put-aside for more boyish pursuits.
In my every-day life, I am a shift-working, coffee-guzzling, music-loving, awkward 30-something woman.
I currently make booties for babies, children and adults! I have recently added sunbonnets. I have small accessories, hair bows & bow ties. I have a big plan to add a whole new line, but it is still under development.
Why do you create?
To bring beautiful things into the world.
How has your art practice evolved since you first started?
I have started incorporating other artistic crafts into my booties, like ribbon plaiting and creating ribbon flowers.
How much time do you spend on your art practice? Is it enough?
I spend as much time as my “normal” life allows. Is there ever enough time for art...?
What is the most rewarding part of creating?
Seeing what you envision become a tangible reality.
What does creative joy mean to you?
Taking joy in the creative process, and the happiness that comes with creating something beautiful.
