AUTHOR READING at Red Fox Creative Studio

  • Red Fox Creative Studio 1954 Angus Street Regina, SK, S4T 1Z6 Canada (map)

Welcome to our author reading at Red Fox Creative Studio.

A celebration of local writers and poets. Red Fox is proud to be hosting local writer, Christalee Froese.  Perhaps when you think of a live author reading, you envision a smoke-filled room in the back of a small, underground café or bar. Contrary to this belief modern-day readings are performed in a variety of venues. Please welcome this Saskatchewan artist as she reads and discusses her work in our cozy, intimate atmosphere.

Christalee Froese

Journalist Christalee Froese brings to life her recovery from depression in her first book
Journey to Joy: The Transformation of a life…21 days at a time

This humour-laced memoir is bold and brave, following Froese on her two-year joy project to restore her happiness…and her faith in life. Spending 21 days each month focusing on what brings her joy, the author immerses herself in the topics of Food, Travel, Fitness, Faith, Love, etc.

Through her heartbreaking, yet poetic, words we witness the writer stumble and fall and get back up again. Froese finds her true courage at the same time that two souls in need of rescue in a Chinese orphanage find her. Journey to Joy will restore your faith in miracles…and also restore your belief in the underlying goodness of mankind.

You’ll want to “do this book!”  Pick your own topics of joy and give yourself permission to celebrate your life. - Dr. Christine Majeran

I don’t know if people will read my book. And I don’t know if they will like it, or relate to it. But I do know that something deep in the fibres of me wanted this book to be born. Something bigger than me ensured that it came to life.

And just when I was worried about the cost of getting my book into the hands of people who might need it, Creative Saskatchewan came to my rescue.

This provincial organization ‘fuels the economic engine of home grown talent, converting creativity into cash flow.’ Creative Saskatchewan supports projects which they believe will have a market outside of the province. I am honoured and humbled to be a recipient of a Creative Industries Production grant (
And so, here I sit, with 1,000 books set to be shipped to me in three weeks. What’s more, now I have to sell them.

That’s pretty real.

I humbly invite you to attend my author reading event—I can promise you it will be ‘real’ and ‘joyous’! - Christalee Froese
