Who is this workshop for?
YOU! Anyone. Everyone. Just bought a camera & don’t know how to us it? THIS workshop is for you! Itching to learn how to create stunning photos? THIS workshop is for you! Even if you're a seasoned photographer & want to keep the spark of photography alive. THIS workshop is for you. Although targeted to beginner and near-beginner photographers, all skill levels are welcome.

Do I have to have experience with photography?
No, absolute beginners are welcome.

Do I have to be "good" at photography?
First things first, "good" is a matter of opinion and here "opinions" are not part of the process. We personally guarantee that you and your creativity will feel embraced and validated.

Will we be outside?
Yes. Yes. Yes. Please bring clothes for all types of weather. Due to the elevation, Cypress can be a bit unpredictable when it comes to weather. Dressing in layers is very important. Toques and mitts are encouraged (night shooting can be cool … and cold).

What do I bring to the workshop?
Please plan to bring your own camera, memory cards, battery, charger. If possible, please bring your camera and flash manuals. A tripod is an essential tool. Bring one if you have one. You are welcome to bring a laptop, but it is not required. Be sure you have enough memory space for a ton of fantastic photos.

Can I bring my spouse and children?
Yes. If you would like to have your family enjoy Cypress Hills while you attend the workshop, all of the reserved rooms have two queen beds. If you pay the single occupancy fee you have the entire room to yourself. Invite them if you want them.

Can I stay longer?
Feel free to extend your time in Cypress Hills before or after the workshop. There is so much to see and do in the area. Contact the Cypress Hills Resort to check availability.

I would like to photograph the Cypress Hills, but don't want a workshop. Do you have something for photographers to unwind, socialize, and create photography?
Yes. We have a photography retreat to help you relax, rejuvenate, and refocus. This photography retreat is the perfect blend between reflecting and recharging while practicing your photography craft.
