Creating a great still life painting often occurs before you’ve even picked up the brush.

In this workshop, we’re going to look at using natural & controlled light and how this will positively affect your reference photos.

Ask yourself... Have you pulled out your camera to take a shot of your still life set up and been sorely disappointed with the results? The photo you took might look too dark, too light or completely washed out. You’re not alone in the quest for a simple formula to create great reference photos.

Understanding the role light can play in your reference photos can be a liberating experience and can greatly improve the framing & lighting of your paintings.

OR maybe you’ve never used your camera to help with your paintings but you’d like to learn how.

Kristin MacPherson will lead you in this lively workshop, with a focus on professional lighting, composition and basic camera functions.

Investment - You will learn:

  • How to understand the properties of light
  • How to set up your lighting to obtain optimal painting references
  • How to control & change your lighting scenarios.
